COVID-19 Crushed The ‘No Time” Excuse: Join the Conversation

If it’s not now, it’s not what you really want.

If you’re off from work, and you don’t start freelancing, then freelancing isn’t your goal. It’s a talking point.

If there’s anything else you’ve claimed to want to do, and you’re quarantined but not working on it, you were never serious. You were fantasizing.

The talking heads warn that a lot of things won’t return to how they were before the coronavirus.

One example is the ability to say, If I had the time, I would…,  I’d like to such and such, but I don’t have time or any variation of claims that time is the reason why.

Lack of time has always been an excuse, but we could get away with it. Being too busy was defendable and relatable. Lots of people were too busy to do a lots of things.

But now COVID-19 has come along and swept away the smokescreen. It’s left us all exposed to answer the question: Are you going to do it or not?

People are grappling to find new cover for not getting shit done. But it’s not going down. The window for excuses is closed.

This is the time to be productive if you’re going to be.

And that’s especially true if you’re home and drawing unemployment. Think about it…starting your freelance business, writing your book, or launching that podcast now means you would be getting paid to do what you want to do.

If you’ve been given the time and money and you’re still not doing the work, odds are you never will.

But there’s still time. Maybe others can serve as motivation.

If you’ve started a new project or venture since the lockdown orders were put in place, tell us about it in the comment section.

Or if you’re having trouble getting started, tell us about that too. Maybe we can help.
